Borbs + YouTube

YouTube

Back when YouTube wasn't the platform we know today, they decided to create their own Cinema channel and cover film festivals. And that's how I ended up interviewing Brazilian cinema legends in Paulínia... :)

You've watched movie trailers on YouTube. I know you have - everyone has. These days we might watch more on social media, but YouTube remains that high-quality safe haven, perfect for watching on your TV and all that.

But... it wasn't always like this. There was a time when you could only watch high-quality trailers by downloading massive QuickTime files that took ages - sometimes over 60 minutes. Then came a period when YouTube decided to centralize all things cinema, hosting trailers and covering festivals like Paulínia. Thus, YouTube Cinema was born. And guess who got invited to this party? ;D

Alongside Sophia Reis and Bruno Ondei (my co-hosts from MTV's Cinema Podcast), and the incredible Paulo Tiefenthaler, we formed a team interviewing that year's Festival headliners (Selton Mello, Paulo José, Rodrigo Santoro, Déborah Falabella, Teuda Bara, among others). While Tiefenthaler roamed the festival grounds, Sophia, Ondei and I hosted guests in our studio at Paulínia's Municipal Theater. Sophia handled craft-focused interviews, Ondei took the critical approach, while I covered the pop culture angle.

Check out a teaser below, with all my interviews archived here. :)
