Tired of just fulfilling random requests, Alexa decided to share glimpses of her cloud-based life on Twitter and Instagram.
Alexa International feat. MOB36
feat. Luiza Wolff, Rafael Capanema and Ygor Freitas
Did you know Alexa - besides telling time, weather, imitating Silvio Santos and turning off lights - can also annoy you? And let out those infamous FART SOUNDS? That's right. Alexa Newsroom was born to bring these quirks to social media, a project envisioned by Juliana Muncinelli where I served as coolhunter.
Alongside illustrator Luiza Wolff and copywriter Rafael Capanema, plus Amazon's team, our mission was to give cultural relevance to this AI - who, much like Monica's Gang's Little Angel or Mario Kart's Lakitu - lives in the cloud. How? By spotting trends, anniversaries and conversations where Alexa could chime in with all her quirks - which of course required tailored writing for each platform. :)
Anniversary of Sweet Child O'Mine's release? Alexa, play a guitar solo! Everyone talking about Pantanal? Alexa, play Cavalo Preto! Midnight on October 21st? Alexa, play Taylor Swift! November arrives? Alexa, play MariaAaaAAAAaaaAaAh Carey! Brazil won the World Cup match? RUMO ALEXA! Tite did the Pigeon Dance? Y'all won't stop asking Alexa weird stuff? We were there for it all (and I'm particularly proud of "Rumo Alexa", which I jokingly suggested in our WhatsApp group before it went official...). ;D
